ATM Counseling
Ambulatory
Detoxification Program is designed to meet the American Society
of Addiction Medicine's Level 1D standards.
The detoxification service
is an organized clinically driven program which is delivered in
an outpatient setting similar to a
physician's office. Program services
are provided under a medically supervised
staff and are designed to deliver evaluation,
detoxification and referral care. Services are delivered daily,
during the week in regularly scheduled individual
and group formats.
Client Treatment

environment must be safe and secure.

and reliable
significant other willing to participate.

occur.
ATM
Ambulatory Detoxification Services are designed to treat
the client's level of clinical
severity and to achieve a safe and comfortable withdrawal from mood altering drugs
(including alcohol) and to effectively facilitate
the client's transition into ongoing treatment and recovery.
Admissions are made to the program by scheduled
appointment only.
Clients seeking admission must be screened against a rigorous admission criteria
designed to assure not only appropriateness
but client safety. Generally, clients with an active
psychosis, active cardiovascular
disease and/or a history of seizure activity in
withdrawal are not appropriate for ambulatory
detoxification and are referred to a hospital.
Clients are expected to have a safe and secure
environment away from the clinic in which they can
recover.
Clients are expected to have a responsible person to assist them in their recovery environment.
Clients/Client Families must be independently responsible for obtaining prescribed medication. No
medication is stored, dispensed or procured at the
clinic.
Clients are expected to commit, on admission, to a discharge plan that includes ongoing
counseling or support with a mental
health or
self-help service. Clients are NOT obligated to
commit to services at ATM following discharge
from detoxification, but must have a follow up care
plan as part of their treatment plan.
Following an initial screening clients are examined by a physician
or physician
extender. A complete psychosocial assessment
is conducted with a substance abuse counselor and
a treatment plan is developed
and implemented. Clients are medically monitored
and attend counseling
session daily during the week until they are
safely ready to discharge to the
next level of care.
Clients who are unwilling to actively participate
in the ongoing clinical care will be referred
for care with other professional
services better matched to their individual needs.
These clients will not be medically managed by ATM
Counseling. The expected length of stay is always
clinically driven and may vary depending on the
individual.
